Dear Manhattanville Students, Faculty, and Staff,

First and foremost, I would like to extend my prayers on behalf of the Right World View members and myself, to all those in grieving due to the recent lost that we experienced in our Manhattanville community. At such a fragile time, it is important that we remain united as we move ahead.

Secondly, I would like to applaud Director Ruthie Trovato and the entire production of The Vagina Monologues for a job well done. For those who were unable to attend, you truly missed out on a groundbreaking performance!

As we come out with our ninth issue, we are still continuing to work hard to perfect Right World View. Please note, that we are still in the process of transforming our Mission Statement in order to coincide with the path that Right World View is on. Stay tuned!
Also, please don’t hesitate to submit any personal work to Right World View as we are always searching for new talent. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook. Letter From the Former Editor

Monday, January 25th, 2010

To all of you at Manhattanville, I wish you a happy new year and a happy new semester. I am writing this as a final farewell to my days as Editor-in-Chief as I am now a Manhattanville Alum. As you will notice, the new Editor-in-Chief is Monique Hardy. I entrust this paper and your following to her for she is someone that I am sure is most capable to perserve and run this paper. So please look to her for continuing Right World View’s rich tradition.

There are some happy changes that Right World View is pleased to present with our brand new and improved website. It is up and running with constant updates. Feel free to go on Mville.RightWorldView.com and comment as you wish!

It has been a pleasure to serve this paper for the past three years as both a writer and then, an Editor-in-Chief. I am most proud of my work and those that I have worked with. It has been the best experience in my years at Manhattanville and I am confident that the tradition and committment to an open exchange of ideas will be something that will live on with Right World View. I am sure that Right World View will strive to be the very best that it can while maintaing it’s integrity and it’s quality. I know that Monique Hardy will do a great job of continuing this paper’s tradition and making it even better than I did!
Right World View has remained strong and vigilant despite the many attempts to subdue our voices by both administration and organizations on campus. Right World View will continue to fight for the right to express the opinions of those who are willing participants. Having the right to express our opinions was so important that our founding fathers put it in the Constitution as our first amendment. It is that right that Right World View observes and continues to protect.

So as I say my final farewells, I entreat you all to continue your support for Right World View by simply just picking up an issue. Remember that as always, Right World View is here to serve you and is happy to have your voices expressed as well. So if you want to join or have any questions,
contact Monique Hardy directly at Mville@RightWorldView.com. So good luck to you all on a brand new year and a brand new semester! Also, remember to check out the new website at Mville.RightWorldView.com!!! Farewell, Manhattanville!

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Dear Manhattanville Students, Faculty, and Staff,

I hope you all had a terrific Thanksgiving break and filled up on some good home cooking! As we move towards the last few weeks of the semester, we are doing our best to wrap up this semester at Right World View while we hope that all of you are gearing up to finish this semester without too much trouble.

On a more official note, I am both happy and sad to announce that the next issue will be my last issue as the Editor-in-Chief of Right World View. I am graduating early but fear not, I will be leaving Right World View in very capable hands. Look for the announcement and my last letter from the editor in the next issue!

Here at Right World View, we wish you a happy reading and best wishes in the last few weeks of this semester. Remember, when the going gets tough, the tough get going! So get going on the work and studying but don’t forget to take a break and read our issue!

Letter From the Editor

Monday, October 26th, 2009

Dear Manhattanville Students, Faculty, and Staff,

As we hit closer to Halloween, we now come out with our third issue of the semester. We hit a bit of a rough patch earlier, which delayed our last issue, but we are back on track now and continuing with our tri-weekly schedule. We still invite any of you who wish to join or make any comments to email us at Mville@RightWorldView.com. You’re always welcome!

Also, we are throwing our first fundraiser of the year this week in honor of Halloween called Death of a Politician: the Murder Mystery Dinner Fundraiser. It should a fun event and we will be serving dinner as well so it really is a total package: entertainment and dinner. Plus, it will be a really interactive show with lots of intrigue hopefully! So, make sure to buy your tickets in advance this week!!! If you wish to attend but do not see us in the cafeteria selling tickets, email us at Mville@RightWorldView.com.

So as always, happy reading and till next time, folks!

Sincerely,
Diana Shprekher

Letter from the Editor

Monday, November 6th, 2006

Political affiliations are an interesting concept. Personally, I chose to not have an affiliation to any party so as to be able to shift to whatever candidate I believe it the best or most qualified. You may note in the last “Letter from the Editor” I stated that I am not a Republican. Note that I am not a Democrat, either; I am unaffiliated.

There is nothing wrong with being unaffiliated if you so desire, and there is also nothing wrong with supporting a candidate. Indeed, if you truly believe someone should win (or if you just don’t want the other candidate to win), you should actively campaign for them. One thing I must request is that if your candidate loses, please remove your stickers supporting them (especially if they have a time stamp on them). There is a certain grace period as bumper stickers are notoriously hard to remove. It should not take years to remove them, despite the difficulties.

Even if you want to continue to show your support for the candidate that lost, there are better ways than with old campaign stickers. All it really does is show that they lost. Let’s use the Kerry and Edwards 2004 presidential bid as an example.

The Kerry Edwards 2004 stickers really must go. They lost, and there is no way they are going to be President and Vice President for the 2004 term. If you still want to show that you supported them, why not upgrade to the “Don’t blame me, I voted for Kerry” sticker?

As long as we are on the topic of politics, remember to vote. You will see this advice as a recurring theme in this issue, as its importance cannot be understated. Not only is it our “Call to Arms”, but it is also listed in the “November Events at Manhattanville.” Your vote does count, and even if your candidate loses, at least you will have made your voice heard. A lot rides on this election no matter which side of the aisle you are on, so be sure to go vote.

If you would like to join the Right World View, our meetings are held every Monday in the second floor Founders classroom (technically three floors up from the front entrance) at 8:30pm. I hope to see you there.

On to some formatting notes: we are happy to report that this issue, we have increased our content by a full 50%. We have also been able to garner a few writers from the other end of the ideological spectrum. This is most notable in the feature “Left World View vs. Right World View” (a debate over tort reform) which can be found on page 8. This issue is certainly not lacking.

Sincerely,
Andrew Berman
